We personally put the program to test and were amazed at how simple and productive these exercise actually were. As the author puts it, speed training should be, as the name implies, fast. This program required only 3 minute sessions. We didn't even break a sweat, but the fast-twitch conditioning was immediate. In an age where people want something new and different, sometimes keeping it simple is the smartest thing. Unless you have tried isometric training using the resistance band for speed training, you have a huge resevoir of untapped muscular energy just waiting to be released. Information this helpful had to be printed.

From the Author
A few years back, I was casually experimenting with a training technique I had learned when I was about twelve years old known as isometric training. I wanted to run faster to help with my flag football team. Being a chiropractor, I learned the specific muscle groups in the leg responsible for sprinting. I can remember in the past that every time I thought I was being trained for speed by my coaches I actually got slower. I decided to experiment with isometric training using the resistance band on my leg muscles and in just two days I had become faster than when I was in high school. I shared this information with my brother and he got the same results. I continued with everyone I knew and they all got faster. I soon realized that speed training was being taught all wrong with weight-sled, parachutes, plyometric etc. that I am determined to prove to any athlete that I can make them faster in just 14 days by using my strategies. The training concept is so fundamentally solid that it makes me shake my head when I see athletes on ESPN going through "speed" drills when in fact they are actually going through "strength and endurance" drills. Many trainers do not like to be told they are wrong and continue to condition their athletes for strength and endurance functions while at the same time telling them its for speed. I simply tell them to try my program with an open mind and let the results speak for themselves. Some trainers are now coaching the fastest teams in their division simply because they didn't let their pride get in the way.

Best Speed Program

Nothing makes me happier than a system that is simple, cost affective, & proven to work. Long story short, this program took me from a 5.6 to running a 4.8 on my 40 yard dash. Very glad I came across the program when I did because I love how simple the workout is. But most importantly the results that come out of fifteen minutes a day.

Expected answers and closure

I have read all 3 Chastity Falls books and in my opinion the first installment, Loyalties and Lies, was the best.

It seemed that as the books evolved, the author did indeed divulge more background information yet at the same time left the readers with more questions that went unanswered.

This was so true of Tribulations and Truths.

There were several questions answered but there were just as many new questions that were not. And since I do not want to reveal any spoilers, I will not mention my new questions here. I just want readers to know that they will have some new ones arise out of this book that the author gives no closure to.

Am I to assume there is a fourth book in this series? With the way book three ended I am led to believe yes. If not, readers should be prepared to be disappointed.

The author also has a writing style which bothered me by the end of the third book. She has the main characters 'zone out' repetitively when other characters are talking to them. I don't know if the author did this because she did not know what to write in these situations but it became tiresome. These are her characters, this is her world, she should know each and every character inside and out and how they would think or act/react in a situation. From a character's apology to a character's revelation of sordid information. She should not gloss over conversations by having the main characters 'zone out'. It's a cop out.

Other times the author went on and on about mundane stuff that I ended up skipping because it was unnecessary for it to even be included. I would have preferred to have read the conversations the author didn't take the time to write when she had her characters 'zone out'.

If there is a fourth installment, I do not know if I will read it. I have basically lost interest in the series now. Thank goodness for kindle unlimited because to buy the last two books would have been a waste of my money.

Twists and turns

Trials and Truths is the third book in L.A. Cotton’s Chastity Falls series. It is strongly suggested you read the two previous works before delving into this one. I have been patiently waiting for this one to be released since finishing Book Two.

The story continues the relationship of Ana and Jackson where more secrets came to light. Ana is deeply suspicious of people in Jackson’s life, especially those who might be responsible for the death of one of Jackson’s family members. He is set on discovering the truth and seeking revenge, putting his own happiness at risk.

The central mystery and relationship of the two main characters kept the pages turning well into the night. There are many twists and turns, some things you don’t see coming, and others that made me blink.

Trials and Truths is definitely an interesting story, but I was a little disappointed with the ending. It felt rushed. Also, it didn’t feel like Ana and Jackson’s story was wrapped up. There were some unanswered questions and after three books it would have been nice to have total closure.

I still recommend this book and am glad I read the series. I look forward to more works from this author.

We left jackson and Ana at the end of book 2 of the chastity falls series where Jackson had agreed to work
For Marcus Donohue , not out of loyalty to the family but to seek revenge on Marcus for killing his father, But the more he worked for Marcus The deeper Jackson got into a world it didn't want to be a part of,
After Ana had told jackson what she found out about the murder of his father she thought jackson would cut all ties with the Donohue Family and they would be free to live their life as they wished,
but jackson was determined to seek revenge ,
With revenge always on Jacksons mind it put a strain on their relationship, secrets were kept lies were told, more and more time spent apart, would the strain on their relationship take its toll and Would they lose each other forever ?
Or would revenge on Marcus be sweet and they would both be free forever?
L A Cotton is a very talented writer I love all of our work, with each book I read of hers The stories seem to get better and better,
L A builds characters up fantastically and makes them into one of the lead characters within the story,
I love how she describes Dennis and how she makes him into one of the lead characters,
I cannot wait to read more about Dennis in the up and coming stories with in the chastity fall series,
Jackson and Ana's story was beautifully written, and is a story that I would read again and again,
A perfect ending for a perfect story

About the Author
Brett L. Walker is Regents Professor and Michael P. Malone Professor of History at Montana State University, Bozeman. He received a Guggenheim Fellowship in 2013 for his work on global environmental history. He studies environmental history, the history of human health, and the history of science, particularly as they relate to Japan. He investigates how nature has imposed its way onto the human past, as well as how humans have sliced, burned, extracted and engineered their needs and desires onto Earth and its living organisms. He is the author of The Conquest of Ainu Lands: Ecology and Culture in Japanese Expansion, 1590-1800, The Lost Wolves of Japan, and Toxic Archipelago: A History of Industrial Disease in Japan. Recently, he co-edited Japan at Nature's Edge: The Environmental Context of a Global Power.

No first time read of Japanese history is going to be easy; it's a great deal of new and dense information. Walker does an acceptable job of presenting the basics but his early 21st century politically correct off hand editorializing on many issues is distracting and unnecessary.

Sad Story of Shizophrenia

Sad, but true story of a schizophrenic's descent into madness. It ultimately resulted in the murder and dismemberment of the victim, which was chronicled on The First 48 television series on A&E. It is the story of this young man's life and his struggle and his family's struggle to get him help before a tragedy took place. Unfortunately, as is the case so many times, there was no help until after the murder occurred.

About the Author
Ed Packel} received his BA from Amherst College in 1963 and his PhD from MIT in 1967. He is currently the Volwiler Professor of Mathematics at Lake Forest College, where he has taught mathematics and computer science courses since 1971. Packel's initial work in functional analysis resulted in several research articles and an introductory graduate text. Subsequent research has involved game theory, social choice theory and information-based complexity. He is also heavily involved in using technology, primarily {\it Mathematicas a tool for teaching and research in mathematics.

Excellent, Well-Written Approach to Games and Gambling

As a casual poker player and a sometimes visitor to casinos and race tracks, I wasn't sure what to expect when I picked up this book; however, I found it was just what I needed. Was it a how-to book for Texas Holdem or other specific gambling pursuits? Not at all. But did the book give me ideas on how to improve my poker playing, my understanding of odds and betting strategy in a wide variety of games? Definitely! There's a vast amount of information in a relatively compact book. True it takes a little bit of math background to work through some of the material, but there is enough basic material along with ample references to a relevant bibliography and appropriate web sites so that everyone could learn something from this book. The author is quick to point out his intention of not delving too deeply into some topics, but he does provide abundant resources for the reader who is interested in digging deeper.

The writing style is light and enjoyable. The author even touches on life's lessons and philosophies of life, but most importantly he provides insight into the thought process employed by consistent winners. Along with the number of charts and tables that layout odds, decision trees, and probabilities, there are exercises at the end of each chapter for the reader to increase his understanding of the material presented. It is a book that can be read through from beginning to end or read in sections. The book is certainly digestible for the casual, interested reader, but maybe not all in one meal. Digesting it section by section worked better for me. Again there is a wide range of information on gambling theory with broad application.

The book starts with a brief history of gambling, even referencing some literature in which gambling played a role. The book studies basic theory involved in probability and expectations, permutations, binomial distribution and game theory. There are sections dedicated to various games from dice to poker to backgammon along with applications to more serious topics such as prisoner interrogation, faith beliefs and even war.

In today's age in which people are trying to engage in activities that exercise their minds, this book with its material and exercises provides ideal mind stimulation. It is a broad, educational and entertaining math book.

For Gamblers Who Would Like to Understand Probability

This is not an academic treatment. There is no calculus; no measure theory foundation. Instead, this delightful read allows the average person with a little high school algebra to study for a few weeks, work the examples, and gain a solid foundation in the theory underlying games of chance. This is the reason for the book's popularity.

Modern college texts require a much higher level of preparation plus about four or five times the effort to assimilate. That's no fun, and truthfully of little value, to the average gambler who just wants to calculate the odds of throwing a 5 at craps. If you can't solve that problem and a hundred others after reading this book, you probably should stop trying.

There is fascinating historical and motivational material woven throughout dozens of examples taken from modern gambling scenarios. The essential combinatorics are developed and the normal distribution is described intuitively as a limit to the binomial. There's even a derivation of the famous gambler's ruin formula -- all without calculus.

A gambler will be more than just sharp after reading this book, he will become dangerous!

I bought this hoping it would be a sophisticated discussion of probability and game theory as it applies to gambling. Unfortunately it turned out to be an introductory text on probability with some discussion of the history and context of the development of probability theory.

The book uses gambling as its entr� to basic probability theory. Not a bad idea, but the title was clearly ambiguous.

If you are looking for an introductory text, it is probably a 4-4.5 star choice. For my purposes it gets a 2; the historical context was interesting and completely lacking in most texts (otherwise I would have gotten nothing out of it). The writing quality was also very good (easy to read and the explanations were straightforward and complete).

Recommended for beginners, NOT recommended for people looking for more advanced tools to solve more complicated gambling problems. Due to the titles ambiguity, I had to average my rating between the appropriate 'beginner's text' rating of 4-4.5, and the rating of 2 stars I give it for what I was looking for.
