About the Author
Gareth Thomas played rugby union for Bridgend, Celtic Warriors, Toulouse, and Cardiff Blues, winning 100 international caps for Wales and captaining the British and Irish Lions. In 2010 he switched to rugby league, playing for the Crusaders RL, and for Wales. He retired from rugby in October 2011. Gareth announced publicly in 2009 that he is gay, and was voted the most influential gay person by Stonewall that year. He is a dedicated supporter of the charity Childline.

Then he reveals the secret that has gnawed at his insides for years and has led to the collapse of his marriage—he is gay. He reveals the years of inner torment he suffered knowing that he was leading a double life. The narrative is precise, without being maudlin. We follow Gareth through it all to his becoming an out and proud man, loved by family and team members. A story to remember and to inspire.

Here is a story of a macho guy supressing his real identity in sports for so long, yet his close friends seemed to know it. It is inspirational for anyone who is gay but has not come out yet. Well written. Gareth had established himself as a blood and guts guy in rugby early on but there were still some slurs. Nfl football still isn't ready for this.

I really liked this book, my only problem with it is that it's one of those that everything kind of becomes too perfect. After all those years apart, they suddenly just move in together like nothing ever happened, it seems a little crazy. but again, it was a good book, definitely a good story and I got really involved with the characters.

I loved, LOVED this book! Perfect Timing is a brilliant combination of romance, good story telling and intrigue! I would recommend this book to readers who enjoy women’s fiction, as well as those who are romance purists. The characters are well developed and the author’s use of a past/present storyline is spot on. Above all, Spinella’s dialogue is a page-turner, witty and meaningful, bringing a real voice to each character. I rooted for Isabel from start to finish. Having read the author’s first novel, Beautiful Disaster, I was anticipating a hero-type of guy that would be irresistible. She delivers, not by repeating the same winning character, Flynn, in Beautiful Disaster but by bringing a whole different kind of sympathetic and unexpected hero to the story.

Laura Spinella is the only author I have ever read that can move from the present to the past so seamlessly. The past is where I got to know and love Aiden and Isabel, even with their speckled histories. The present is where I got to hope that true love, first love, is a real thing and will overcome all the obstacles. It was so touching to see how their friendship progressed from a young love to an adult relationship. Aiden is truly one of a kind, the kind that every girl hopes to have in her life.

As the story is told, there are twists and turns that I never saw coming. One in particular had me setting the book down and making me think about what was being told. This twist truly makes the story one that I will be talking about for a long while and be happily sharing with all my fellow readers. This is a book of love conquering all with a ton of emotion and amazing writing.

This is a book that I will recommend to EVERYONE. Laura Spinella wrote another amazing book that is sure to touch anyone who reads it.

Batgirl and Catwoman fans will LOVE this.

For starters, "Batman Confidential: The Bat and The Cat" trade paperback does not star Batman. Batgirl is clearly the star of this outing, and Catwoman is her delicious foil as the two femme fatales fight each other -- and a horde of super villains -- to retrieve a vitally important notebook. (Batman does turn up here and there, and his appearances are indeed memorable.)

The art here is quirky and fun -- not the sexpot versions of these character readers are mostly familiar with. The story is light and enjoyable, though there are a few more "adult" moments that I would not allow a child under 10 years to see.

Overall, this is a great read for teens and adults. And it's a steal at Amazon's price! Let's hope there are more Batgirl/Catwoman team-ups where this one came from. They are both extraordinary female characters, and they deserve this kind of stellar treatment.

The Cat and the Bat mainly centers around Batgirl and Catwoman - and the action / pace of the story is very entertaining to read.

It's mostly an action story, not focusing too much on mystery or character development - but it is still a cool edition for any Batman fan to own.

...and there's an awesome scene where Batgirl and Catwoman circumstantially wind up naked...

...seriously right? Awesome.

I would give it 4 and 1/2 but there's no half star systems here. It's a fun read and the art was decent. For any Batgirl and Catwoman fans that dream of the two getting into an epic battle!

About the Author
Educated in geography and town planning at Liverpool University, Professor Ian Masser has been involved with the INSPIRE Directive since its beginning. He was founder chairman of the Association of Geographic Information Laboratories in Europe (AGILE) and president of both the European Umbrella Organisation for Geographic Information (EUROGI) and the Global Spatial Data Infrastructure Association (GSDI). His publications include 18 books and more than 300 published papers and conference presentations. He authored the first and second editions of Building European Spatial Data Infrastructures (Esri Press 2007, 2010).

Joep Crompvoets is a professor at KU Leuven Public Governance Institute (Belgium) and secretary-general of EuroSDR—a European spatial data research network linking national mapping agencies with research institutes and universities for the purpose of applied research. He has been involved in several projects related to the development of the INSPIRE Directive and SDIs around the world. He has written numerous publications dealing with SDIs, GIS, and e-governance.
