It is small, but still a great gift!

I bought this as a gift for a big Friend's fan. It is very small, but I expected that reading other reviews. It's a very cute little gift "stuffer" (would be great in a stocking). It has very nice pictures and famous quotes from the tv show. Even though it is small, it's very easy to read the quotes on the pages.
The only thing I didn't like about it is that it was hard to handle. There is a cover on it, which with the book being so small, it was hard to hold it on there while looking at the book.

Didn't know this is a pocket book or I would've never paid that much for it It's basically a picture on one side of the book and a quote from the show on the other, definitely not what I was expecting.

This is mainly a warning to people to check the dimensions before you buy.

It's partly my fault for not noticing the "dimensions" of this extremely small book, but I was extremely disappointed when I received it, it's to be a gift for someone who loves the tv series. It's contents are brief little blurbs that are also disappointing, and all in all, to me, it was not worth the $5.00 I spent. I have kept it however, and bought something better to go with it as a gift. This is mainly a warning to people to check the dimensions before you buy.

A Compellling Story & Character

I wholeheartedly agree with the only other reviewer so far and urge others to support this great novel. The actress hiding her husband from the Nazis in WWII Vienna is a memorable, dynamic character. The intense and oppressive attmosphere of an occupied city makes the whole book come alive. This is a novel to savor.

good enough to reprint!

This was my favorite of a trilogy written by Sarah Gainham concerning Austria under Hitler. It is also the first book in the trilogy. Entering the fictional but authentic world of Viennese theater people, we see the impact of the Anschluss on unexceptional citizens. A non-Jewish actress with a Jewish husband struggles to cope with all the pressures and threats surrounding her because of history and politics. The reader also learns much about the Austrian theater world. I would like to see the trilogy reprinted for a new generation of readers. Do you think we could get Oprah to consider it as a selection? P.S. I have no connection to author or publisher--just remember this book as one that really made an impact on me.

Great novel of Vienna in WWII

I read this 30 years ago and liked the following two novels. This is the best of the trilogy with a phenominal story of a gentile actress trying to protect her Jewish husband during the Nazi era. Exceptional characters through to the Soviet army invasion and rape of Vienna - I reread it and passed it on to friends until I lost all three books and now want to add them to my retirement library. Highly recommended historical novel.

World Voyage Planner - Amazed

Bill and I are currently circumnavigating aboard BeBe and own most of Jimmy Cornell's books. Our copies of "World Cruising Routes" and World Cruising Destinations" are bookmarked, earmarked, pencil-marked, and coffee stained. We have used them extensively on our circumnavigation.

In the past few months Jimmy's new books have become available. We received "Cornell's Ocean Atlas: Pilot Charts for All Oceans of the World" (Ocean Atlas) several months ago and just received "World Voyage Planner." I opened "World Voyage Planner" and closed it 5 hours later. I can sum up my opinion in one word, amazed!

Our first two books by Jimmy were priceless, filled with the best ocean sailing and circumnavigating information available...every circumnavigator I know agrees with this. His latest book, "World Voyage Planner," is jam-packed full of the best information available today...and we all know how information has improved in the past 10 years! "World Voyage Planner" is well organized AND it is very easy to use...I could not believe it. Pick an Ocean, then a departure point...go to the contents pages, then flip to the page and there it is. Jimmy adds facts about the weather, wind, currents and ports all over the world. In fact every route in every ocean and at every season is available in this book.

The "World Voyage Planner" is full of planning charts, pilot charts, tables and really great photographs. Additionally, Jimmy included comments and personal short stories from several well known experts. You will find these added to the pages of the destinations.

If you are going to sail any of the world's oceans or circumnavigate the world, the first book you should own is "World Voyage Planner" and the second one is "Cornell's Ocean Atlas: Pilot Charts for All Oceans of the World."

Great Book for Planning a Voyage

If you're dreaming about a voyage or just an armchair sailor this book is loaded with the information you need for planning the correct time to begin that voyage. This book not only opens your eyes on how to plan the trip but what alternatives you have to consider before you cast off the lines and point your boat off shore. About the Author
Bill Gardner is an Assistant Professor at Marshall University, where he teaches information security and foundational technology courses in the Department of Integrated Science and Technology. He is also President and Principal Security Consultant at BlackRock Consulting. In addition, Bill is Vice President and Information Security Chair at the Appalachian Institute of Digital Evidence. AIDE is a non-profit organization that provides research and training for digital evidence professionals including attorneys, judges, law enforcement officers and information security practitioners in the private sector. Prior to joining the faculty at Marshall, Bill co-founded the Hack3rCon convention, and co-founded 304blogs, and he continues to serve as Vice President of 304Geeks. In addition, Bill is a founding member of the Security Awareness Training Framework, which will be a prime target audience for this book.

Valerie Thomas is a Senior Information Security Consultant for Securicon LLC that specializes in social engineering and physical penetration testing. After obtaining her bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering, Valerie led information security assessments for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) before joining private industry. Her skill set also includes intrusion detection, endpoint protection, data loss prevention, and mobile security. Throughout her career, Valerie has conducted penetration tests, vulnerability assessments, compliance audits, and technical security training for executives, developers, and other security professionals.

Bill and Valerie did an excellent job with this book. to use a sports phrase, here is your "playbook". All your questions are answered. easy to read, easy to follow and all the knowledge you need to start an awareness program. No matter your level in this field, novice or seasoned pro and all levels in between. buy it, read it and absorb what they have given you. pentesters give a copy to your clients.
