A Lot of Insight at a GREAT Price

This book as well as Bodyguarding Basics is one of the little self-published createspace/lulu type books. Whether called the essentials or the basics, it DOES give a lot of the foundation info, with stories and checklists like Stanback's book. I edit tutorials on becomeabodyguard dot com and for Lynda, and there are a dozen good texts and videos ranging from $200 to this at $9. The size, like the basics, is perfect for a "beginner" summary that will fit in a small or Priority Mail envelope with a DVD, etc.
In general, although there are about 20 good titles available on Amazon right now under the keyword executive protection, some of the better/ more expensive ones date back to the 90s when Facebook/Twitter etc. were not the security issues they are today, so for more advanced and expensive texts, try to stay with 2010 or later, such as Machine's VERY fine Israeli Security Concepts: A Comprehensive Guide For Selecting Training And Deploying A Security Team For Installation And Personnel Protection (Volume 2) -- today's "go to" volume for pros.

I thought it was a great book! It really gave me some insight into the industry. I am new to the industry and I feel I now have a realistic outlook to my career and what to expect. I feel it gave me truly what the job is and some good ways to market myself.

Great read

For anyone that is interested In security this is a great read. I have even taken classes by Terry and have learned more from his hands on training and his class room education then any of my other instructors. His ability to teach from his experience and put it into lay man's terms is outstanding and now into book form.
